Q: Do you use sterile needles?
A: I use sterile disposable needles.

Q: Does acupuncture hurt?
A: There are certain styles of acupuncture that can be painful. The Japanese style of acupuncture that I do is painless. A patient may experience a dull achy sensation that indicates that the meridian energy is being accessed when the needle is stimulated.

Q: Does acupuncture work?
A: Numerous studies have been conducted in the U.S., Europe, Japan and China that have shown that acupuncture does work. I have been practicing acupuncture since 1987, and my experience has shown that acupuncture is an effective way to treat health problems.

Q: How does acupuncture work?
A: One of the easiest ways to understand acupuncture is to use the concept ofinformation systems. Over 2000 years ago the Chinese discovered an information network, the meridian system, that when stimulated could effect all the systems of the body. Acupuncture points are the input sites for the network. Each acupuncture point, when properly stimulated, has a specific type of information that influences the systems of the body to return to proper functioning.

Q: How do you diagnose a person's disease?

A: I utilize the four traditional methods of Chinese medical diagnosis; pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, body palpation, and questioning. During the initial session I conduct a thorough health history looking for the person's life health pattern. I also utilize a Japanese machine that was developed in the 1950's to obtain objective measurements of the person's meridian energy. If warranted, I will suggest various western diagnostic tests to help with the diagnosis so that a treatment plan can be established.

Q: Besides acupuncture, what other treatment modalities to you use?
A: I have been trained in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET), Western massage therapy, Tibetan Reiki and Energy Body Work.

Q: What is NAET?
A: This is a technique utilizing applied kinesiology to: 1) determine a person's allergies or sensitivities to items such as foods, pollens, pet fur etc. and 2) to treat the person's reactivity to the identified objects thereby reducing and eliminating that reactivity. To learn more about NAET use your search engine to look at the NAET web site.

Q: What is Tibetan Reiki?
A: The focus of Tibetan Reiki is to bring healing energy to the chakra system. This is accomplished by holding the hands first off the body above and below the chakras, and then holding the chakra areas by touching the body. Health problems due to internal causes are believed to appear first in the chakra system. By bringing coherent energy to the chakras healing can begin at the most fundamental aspect of who we are as human beings.

Q: What is Energy Body Work?
A: All living organisms have a physical and energetic aspect. Our energetic aspect includes the chakras, acupuncture meridians and the energy field or body that extends out from the physical body. Japanese researchers have measured the energy body up to eighty feet from the physical body. Energy Body Work uses the hands off the physical body to allow the Energy Body to flow freely and extend into space. In the treatment of patients I combine acupuncture, Tibetan Reiki and the Energy Body Work so that the most favorable conditions are created to promote health and well-being.
